On December 2, nearly 20 Omega Alpha Chi Omega's gathered to kick-off the holidays at our first Sigma Psi Sigma Christmas Tea honoring Lila Darlene Sutton - our President's mother. In the late 1980s, Darlene and Merle Sutton opened their home to welcome Carla's many sisters as we migrated from our small towns to the big city of Seattle. Some of us stayed a couple a weeks and some us stayed longer but we were always welcome in her home. We hope Sigma Psi Sigma gives all Omegas' the same feelling of inclusion and warmth!

Membership Milestones

For those who were able to attend the Christmas Tea, we celebrated our 25 Year Membership Milestone. Alpha Chi Omega sisters who have been members for 25 Years have the option of ordering a 25 Year pin from Herff Jones.

And - yes - we're aware that many have reached a membership year that exceeds 25 years by a minute but at this point AXO celebrates the 10-, 25-, 50-, 60- and 75-year anniversary milestones. Maybe at the convention this year we'll be able to persuade some of the ladies to add a 40 year anniversary milestone in there too!

If you weren't able to attend the Christmas Tea and you're a Sigma Psi Sigma member, check your mail as we have a card heading to your mailbox this week. Members who didn't attend the Christmas Tea will also be entered into a raffle for a $25 Starbucks gift card!

Connections

During this winter season, we hope you feel swaddled in connection. And if you feel a bit lonely or lost, that's OK too. But remember that "we are made to connect" to quote the U.S. Surgeon General, and if it sounds good, reach out to a sister. Who knows? Your check-in with her may just make her day and your day too.

It's easy to find a sister with a few clicks. If you can't find them on Facebook or Instagram, hit up the Alpha Chi Omega member search.
